Pavers

I want to lay pavers over the top of my concrete patio. Can anyone tell me if I should lay sand or anything else down over the top of the concrete or will the concrete itself be a sufficient base? Can this be done? Thanks.

Pavers

I've tried this firsthand....a few years ago our patio, an extension at the rear our garage started cracking from winter ice freeze. I opted to use pavers instead of resurfacing with asphalt. We layed out sand first and set the 24" pavers in sucsession using a level and adjusting each piece as needed. This method worked great for my project and has held up wonderfully. Ice is not a problem anymore and remember you can make any adjustments in the future by raising a paver and adding or moving some sand. And the cost was minimal, if I recall $100. Try it, you will like it !
