cracks in concrete

cracks in concrete
i am having a new house built and the newly poored concrete in the basement it is cracked... do we need to have it taken out and redone or will it be ok with a small crack// help

Did they cut any joints in it? If not, then the concrete jointed itself by cracking.
Actually, I don't think I've ever seen a basement slab that wasn't cracked. The cracks are drying shrinkage cracks, and they usually happen the day after the pour. That's what cut joints are for...to control where the slab cracks.
Usually, an indoor crack is not a "working crack" affected by changes in temperature, freezing, etc., so they pose no problems other than aesthetics. This is especially true if you are carpeting over it anyway. No worries.
