Code Requirement?

Hello,
I am preparing to drill a 4 inch hole through solid concrete wall to install a length of metal duct for a bathroom vent. This wall already has a vent for my gas dryer and I want to place the new hole close by. Is there a code requirement as to minimum distance center to center between both holes? The wall is a foundation wall.

The first question: is there rebar (steel reinforcing) in the wall?

If so, life is simpler if you don't attempt to drill through it.

I don't know if there is rebar in the wall. But I took a walk along my back driveway and checked out the homes on both sides, 60 total. Of these, there were 19 that had vents installed in the walls. I would say 20 more had vents installed above the wall through the brick and the rest did not have any vents. I also checked the condition of these walls with vents and none of them showed any deterioration. Our homes were built in the early 1950's.
