brick chimney help
I have recently seen chips of brick on my roof, obviously coming off the chimney. The house (and chimney) is 23 yrs old.
My questions:
What can I do to prevent further damage to these bricks?
Is there a 'brick maintenance procedure' I should have been doing to prevent this sort of thing?
If the damage appears superficial, do I need to fix those bricks that have chipped?
Many thanks for any words of wisdom on this.
Cheers!

See the post at http://forum.doityourself.com/showthread.php?t=317490 for what I did to repair my chimney, especially the pictures at the end of the post.
The bricks not shown on the photo were much worse so it took me some time to do the patching but being retired I have the time and enjoyed doing the work and saving the money. I had no idea what I was doing before I started the project.
I did have the advantage of a ranch house with the chimney in the middle of the roof - so easy access.
