Brick steps leading onto front porch

I recently bought a new construction home. After all the recent rain the brick steps going onto the porch have settled and pulled away from the house. They didn't pour a footer under the steps. What would be the best way to relevel the steps and get a footer under the steps to prevent them from moving again?

Get the builder back to repair it. Stop by your local inspectors office for some advice.
Its probably going to have to be demolished and redone correctly.

You'll get some more help on here later when the Pro's get off work.

So you don't believe that you can dig under the corners and jack both sides up at the same time and pour a footer or put cap blocks under it?

There are better ways to do it than trying to jack it up with a few jacks. That is a short termpatch job. If the backfill was good and in place for a few years, mud-jacking could be a method.

In general, everything is wrong and bad.

The steps are settling because the builder did not use good backfill or compact it properly or did not put footings under the steps as required in many areas. If you have bad, uncompacted backfill, only replace or time will stop the settlement.
