installing new wall oven into existing brick wall

We just purchased a new home, in which a wall oven from the 1950's that was put into the actual brick wall of the home. It still works but the ovens were made smaller in those days. If we were to go ahead with the purchase of a new oven which are made larger these days, is it possible to make the space in the existing brick wall larger to accomodate the larger oven? Is this expensive? Difficult? Any insight would be appreciated! Thanks!

Is the new oven taller and wider and how many layers would have to be removed? I would probably rent a chipping gun. It could be a little tricky but it's doable.
