How to attach downspout gutter brackets to brick??
I am going to attempt a do-it-yourself rain gutter project but I am not sure how to secure the downspout brackets to my brick house.
Any suggestions?

You have a few options, but make sure you drill into the mortar between the bricks and not the bricks themselves. You can use a Self-Tapping Concrete Screw something like a tapcon screw Tapcons- The Original Blue Concrete Screw || Blue Tapcon Concrete Screws
or you use a plastic screw anchor Malco Tools PA810KW Kit with Slotted Pan Head Screws (3/16" x 7/8")
Both will work fine if you drill the correct size pilot hole with a masonry bit and don't over tighten. If you over-tighten 2 things can happen - The mortar will crumble around the concrete screw and the screw will just spin and not tighten, and the case of the plastic sleeve the plastic will start to spin freely in the hole. If this should happen you have to relocate your hanger bracket and drill again. Often times the screw or the plastic sleeve are difficult to retrieve. I often squeeze a little clear silicone caulk in the hole before inserting the screw. Buy a couple of drill bits if you plan on drilling numerous holes. Hope this helps.

Downspout
The plastic anchor used with white hex head screws makes a nice looking finish when you have white downspout brackets. You may have to use galvanized screws and paint the heads before they are installed.
