Any tips for using ridgestone for a fireplace?

I'm using these rocks by a style called ridgestone. Incredible pain in the butt. As anyone used this stuff before? It's like putting a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle together then trying to stick it to the wall. I have the surface prepared properly, but this is taking forever to just make one layer of rock.

Thanks for any help.

The problem here is you are not a stone Mason. This may help a bit.

YouTube - Boulder Creek Stone Installation Video - Part 5 Installing Stone

Not to be unkind but as a real Stone Mason we look at the stone as a lick and stick. Real stone masons are just about extinct and the DIY are killing the trades.

Stand on a scaffolding and look down 40 feet to tell the labor the next stones you want up as he has them laid out on the ground pointing his guide finger.

Don't know what to tell you other in its all in the eye and the expercience,
