Bullnose Step

I am probably going to use a 4 x 8 bullnose paver for my step edge. If I have a big patio coming into the first bullnose step how high do I have to bring the bullnose to be level with the paver if I am using 1/2 sand under the pavers but PL gluing the bullnose to the concrete slab. Do I just PL glue or mortar the same height as the paver? Or will the paver settle in the sand and be a bit lower than the bullnose after being compacted and over time?

I was hoping that the bullnose pavers came thicker to compensate for this. But I do not think Cambridge offers that.

I am using Cambridge Renaissance Pavers on top of a 4" concrete slab.

Thanks....

you kind of have to make these things up as you go, depending on conditions. i had a similar experience laying a flagstone walkway with steps at my house. when i got to the step, i adhered the flagstone to the block risers with thin set tile mortar.

it's working so far, and the rest of the flagstone hasn't settled that much.
