Help! Crack in Foundation
Hi All,
Need some help here...I purchased a home about 3 years ago...the house itself is about 50 years old and there was a family room extension built about 20 years ago at the back of the house. Well now there are what seems to be fairly big cracks on the back of the house (one corner to be exact) where the concrete foundation seems to be separating from the wood paneling. The cracks are big enough where if I look from inside the house crawl space, I can actually see sunlight coming in through the cracks. Any ideas on how to go about in fixing this? I'm not sure if the foundation itself is sinking?? I am posting some pictures also...please help.
Well I can't seem to figure out how to upload pic to this post...I hit insert image but that told me to enter an URL which I do not have. How do I just upload a pic that is on my desktop??

My suggestion is... save yourself the trouble and please call a structural engineer or a foundation repair company to look at the problem.
No foundation crack should be taken lightly and specially not one as you describe.
As much as people in this forum are knowledgeable, no one will be able to offer you sound advice in structural matters without inspecting the property.
Some foundation repair companies will inspect and give you an estimate for free, so it won't cost you anything but your time, to get an expert opinion.
