How many 80# bags of concrete in a 6cf Gas Mixer

Hey gang. I rented a 6cf for a concrete countertop that I'm pouring sunday (tomorrow!) Forms are ready to go. We just have one quick question....

How many 80lb bags can we mix at a time? We are pouring about 1/4 cubic yard (actually about 6-7cf)

From the research I've found, it seems that a 6cf mixer can handle about 4-5 bags at a time. if thats the case I guess we can break it up in to 3 pours. We are using pigment so we can divide the amount needed for the pull pour by 3 and do 4 bags at a time with 1/3 total pigment.

Any input, suggestions and info is appreciated.

EDIT: I also wanted to mention the dimensions of our pour. Its 1 5/8" thick x 20' long by 26" wide. So you can see where my approx 6cf came from.

Break the pour up into two or three. It won't slag off in the few minutes it takes to mix. In fact, while one mixes, one can screed. According to my calculations it should take 11 bags of 80#. I rounded it off to 1 3/4" x 2'x20'. If you overload the mixer it will be difficult to handle and will slosh alot.

Unless the drum can be rotated vertical, you will be lucky if it can mix 3cuft. If it can, it can probably mix 4 cuft. 1 80# bag of regular concrete mix=.66 cuft so 3/.66= 4.54, call it 4 bags and break it into 3 batches.
