Smile extending a hot tub pad

Howdy, I need to extend a hot tub pad by 2 feet. one issue is the area where I need to extend it is sloping away from the existing pad. do I drill anchors into the side of the existing pad to join the new and old together or would it be better to drill into the top, add anchors and make the existing pad thicker with connection to the extended area? or any other ideas on how to tackle this opportunity. The current pad is 4 inches thick and 5 feet square.

Note sure what that means. To add to any exterior concrete pads lay some felt expansion against the old and drill through that for 3/8 steel rebar tie in stub then out . Need 4" crushed stone under new Crete.
