Strange discolouration on decorative front
Hi everyone,
Recently, after a heavy rainfall, I noticed a strange discolouration on the front of the house. It's localized to the pinkish decorative front blocks and could be related to recent construction work done next door. (That white spakling substance could be the cause?). I'm wondering what's going on and if I should be worried about it.
Thanks,
Marc

It doesn't look like it's anything to worry about. There were probably some heavy winds along with the rain, so whatever they used was pushed in your direction.

efflourescence
What I see is called efflourescence.... Its common here where I live and is nothing to worry about. It leaches out of the masonry when saturated. Its ugly to look at and the best way Ive found to remove is to acid wash it. (muratic or hydrochloric mixture) and then pressure wash it clean... when its COMPLETELY dry, seal it with a masonry sealer. wait til summer when there is no chance of rain so it can completely dry. good luck
I noticed you have it under your window sill as well. or thats what it looks like.
