Question

We have a fieldstone fence that is losing soem of its smaller stones thnaks to our Minnesota weather. I am wondering if I can ppatch sections of the wall or if portions of it need to be totally rebuillt. Any advice? The wall was built in the 30's and it matches the filedstone firepalce in our house. We'd like to keep it.

I remember those winters from childhood. Still 10-15 ft. snow drifts @ 30-40 below 0?
Anyway, depending on how the stones are set and lie some may be able to be pulled and reset using wooden wedges, after cleaving replacements. If tear down is necessary take pictures of the sections before hand and build two adjustable guage boards, so the stones can be reset as near as possible to the original, at the existing angle.
