cement basement floors

our basement was flooded and the carpeting had to be removed. this left glue on the floor that now has dried. we want to paint the floor and add an area carpet. how do we prep the floor?

To remove the glue use adhesive reomver or a semi-paste paint remover (they are nearly the same thing). To prep the cement for painting wash it with a 10% solution of Muriactic Acid followed by a rinse of TSP.
Using a plastic pail pour the acid into the water (not the other way around). Apply with a fiber brush, scrub, then rinse with the TSP solution (about 2 oz. per gallon of water). If possbile hose both solutions off the surface afterward.
