Edge of Slab Concrete Repair

Hello

My garage floor is concrete and at the entrance the garage where my asphalt driveway and concrete gargage floor meet, the edge of the concrete garage floor slab has some deterioration and chunks missing. To put it in perspective, there are spots where pieces are missing a good 2 to 3 inches from the slab end and one larger spot that looks somewhat like a V. The point of the V is about 8 inches from the slab edge and the wdith of the V is about 6 inches and the depth is about one inch (maybe an inch and a half) at its maximum point.

Since these are all on the slab edge I am unsure of how best to repair it as they are not simple cracks and they willl be run over by vehicles on a regular basis. Should I cut small sections to repair it? Get some type of special patching material? The previous owner had it patched at some point but it was all breaking apart and looked like a poor job at best.

Any advice will be great.

Thanks!

Thumbs up simple fix

Hi T, I have some good news, and not so good news.

You could repair that in less than an hour and return it to traffic, without saw cutting by using FlexKrete. It is a fast setting thermoset polymer resin that is mixed with industrial sand. Simple to use and it will likely outlast the concrete.

The not so good news. You only need a pint or so of FlexKrete for this project, and the smallest amount of FlexKrete that is sold is a one gallon kit that comes with everything you need.

The one gallon kit sells for $150, and comes in a five gallon bucket that weighs about 50 lbs, therefore costs about $25 to ship from Texas where it is manufactured.

For details about how to install it as well as the detailed data sheets, check out Welcome to FlexKrete USA ! One Hour Concrete Repairs. Welcome to FlexKrete USA ! One Hour Concrete Repairs.
