blue stone
i am building a blue stone patio. i have 4 inches of crushed stone down and tamped. i just put 1 inch of stone dust down. do i need to tamp the stone dust down? if yes should i use a hand tammper or can i use a gas powered one?

No... start laying the bluestone, taping each stone down with a 2-3 pound rubber hammer to the right height. If you don't have a rubber hammer use a piece of 2x4 or 2x6 and pound the bluestone down hitting the wood using a 3 pound hammer
