Jbolt 5/8" in new patio?

Hello, I want to use Simpson Strong Tie for 4x6 posts on a concrete patio to be poured. The posts will support a cedar pergola. The Strong Tie is 5/8" diameter. Will a typical concrete patio be deep enough to support the JBolt? or should the post areas have a deeper footer? I have received conflicting advice on this, and I want to get it right before pouring begins! Thanks in advance.

I'm 99% sure that code requires a footing.

I agree with Pulpo, at each post you should dig additional footing depth to allow for vertical strength that your patio won't have and to allow j bolt use.
