Preping to have a professional resand and seal a stone paved driveway

I apologize in advance if this topic has been taken up previously.

Over the next few days I've been tasked with the job of removing the old sand between our driveway sandstone pavers so a professional can resand and reseal it. Two questions:

1. Is using a power washer at a low setting my best bet? (since the stone appears to be sandstone my concern is a risk eating away at the stone)

2. How far down should I go?

Also, any other advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Louis
