How long do I need to wait to paint a small concrete patch?

I'm back, my wife like how the front steps turned out after I painted them. That she wanted the back one painted. Furtunately, I think I still have enough paint to do the back steps too. The back steps had some cracks and small chunks missing I used Sakrete patching cement and filled in the holes and crack. It says it is quick drying. I know fresh poured concrete needs a few weeks before you can paint it. How long do I need to wait for a small patch like this?

A general rule of thumb is 30 days although I've painted masonry repairs the next day. The biggest thing that will happen is the mortar might burn some of the color out of the paint. A 2nd coat usually rectifies that issue.

Paint doesn't always hold up well on horizontal concrete, especially if it's exposed to the weather. A concrete stain generally holds up better than paint.
