External door into wall

hello,

I have an old house with wooden siding. I am trying to take a door that we don't use and wall it up. I know we will have to get wooden siding to all to that area. Do i basically follow the same interior instructions for walling up a door and just make sure to add siding?

i should probably say.. the door currently does not open. It goes from the living room to the porch. My house has way to many doors in it. No space for anything.. I want a tv to hang on the wall it its place.

I'm not sure what you mean by "follow the same interior instructions for walling up a door"

You will need to add some 2x framing in the door opening after you remove the door. Neither siding or drywall can span a distance that wide.
