Brick Demolition Recycling

I'm going to be demolishing an older house (!950's) & building a new house. The house has a slate roof, parts are red brick. It seems like a waste to throw all this away. Does anyone know of who might salvage/recycle etc any of this in the NY area. Thanks

As far as I know, it's going to be recycled, even if you just throw it in a dumpster. If you are looking to get paid for it, that's another story.

You will save a lot of money by recycling it. For me down here in NJ, it costs $106 per ton to bring construction debris to the dump. I get paid $8 a ton to recycle brick. I don't know any places in NY that do it, but I'm sure there are several.

Check out: Brick near NY - Recycling Centers - Earth911.com

Also do internet searches for "brick recycling" and "concrete recycling" in NY.

If you dont want it, you can place an ad on Craigslist (or similar) and people will come out of the woodworks. That is if you plan giving it away.
