Can I seal mortar in this wheater?

Because of chipping bricks on my chimney, I used mortal to seal the top and a lot of my brick chimney last year, kind of like stucco, based
on information from my chimney guy. I sealed it well last year.

He was here today dropping off some firewood and said I should seal it every year. I used a good coating of siloxane pd, both before I applied the mortar and after it had set. My question is, is there a product out there that I can use in this weather (temp is in the 20's)?

I would really like to paint it to match the new roof installed last year as well.

Also, do you think it would be safe to leave it until the spring?

I never thought to ask him while he was here, but I took a good look at the chimeny while I was out bringing fire wood in. I just don't want it to start cracking again, and allow water to come in.

Many thanks in advance, and I hope you can figure out what I am
asking about......

If I understand your post correctly your first mistake was sealing the chimney before applying the stucco over the brick, therefore it never properly bonded.
Without a mechanical bond like stainless wire, you must have a good suction bond so you kinda screwed yourself.
