Question cleaning cement block foundation

It's the type of block with the uneven, rock-like? surface. After 100 years it has darkened in places to almost black. Will power washing clean that off? Suggestions? Thanks! Bobbr

You need to be careful with a pressure washer, while the block might withstand the pressure ok, you don't want to blast the mortar out of the joints. A bleach/water solution will remove any mildew, TSP or maybe a laundry detergent should remove any other type of grime. I'd wet the block, spray on the cleaning agent with a pump up garden sprayer and then carefully rinse with the PWer. A garden hose would also work. A scrub brush or old broom might be beneficial on the stubborn spots.
