This is probably nothing but my imagination but my newly poured concrete basement floor has a few dark patches maybe say 1 foot square that seem kinda sandy. so most of the floor is hard and dry a few patches are gritty so I sweep off the grit or sand and it seems to get more sand but just in a few spots maybe 5 x 1 foot areas. could there be a problem with the concrete or is it just curing Happy to try to give more details if it helps

hello, gents the house that i am looking at was built in 1949, and is a bungalow. it is 1/2 below grade full basement. it has the nicer looking blocks, not the smooth side ones. the foundation looks straight and in generally good shape. except, it has some minor cracking at the mortar. like this. the area to the upper and left of the red X. [IMG]http://0.tqn.com/w/experts/Foundation-Stabilization-Repair-3587/2008/10/basement-wall.jpg[/IMG] i was told that the basement only leeks a little when there is heavy & long rains. by looking at the very minor stain in one spot, i see this to be honest info. the house also has a poor downspout system. just how bad are these types of cracks ? and what would be a repair for these ? thanx
