Stucco surfacing questions

Hi, my house currently has lap siding on the part that isn't brick. I am having to take some of the siding off because of a bad shower pan install that rotted the wood. I had an idea and I was wondering if it was feasible.

1. Would it be possible to un-lap the siding and lay it flat and use it for the backer before the wire for stucco?

2. If that is possible, what do you estimate my cost to be per square foot for the wire and stucco I would need to do the job.

I don't thin I mentioned that I hate the siding!!!

Thanks in advance!

Brent

Probably, you'd also need to attach roofing felt as a moisture barrier behind the wire lath. I have no idea as to the cost but I'm sure someone smarter than me will be along later today

stuccoing

fist i would put put roofing paper on after the siding is remove, and the other thing is i sheet of metal lath is 27 inches wide and 96 inches long , nees to no what the square footage is are you going to use 2.5 metal lath or heavy duty dimppled lath
