Max Slope For Paver Walkway?

What is the max slope you can run with a paver walkway?

I want to run a walkway along the back of my house, and would like the follow close to the existing grade. The biggest slope drops about 9" in 12 feet.

Is that too muck of a drop? I would rather not put in a step because it may cause a tripping hazard in low light.

Thanks,

Steve

Hmmm I wouldn't think that would be too bad...but I'd be concerned about washing out the sand. I know it rains pretty hard in OH sometimes (grew up there). Might be worse if any roof runoff is going to impact it.

From what I can find...they say try to avoid anything over 1/2" per foot. You are at 3/4".

Not a great answer I know. Pro' s will be around...give it time.

Thanks for the advice... I finally got everything excavated. Heat and inconvenient rain slowed me down. My walkway will be sheltered by an overhang from the house.... so unless it's one of those biblical storms with the rain coming down sidways... it probably won't even get wet most of the time.

Thanks,

Steve
