Repair exterior wall

My home's exterior wall has a big crack and a piece of it has fallen down.
Please see the attached photo.
How to repair it?
Thanks.

Looks like a thick coat of stucco that someone applied without properly preparing the underlying surface (nothing likes to stick to dirt or dust), or possibly forgetting to give it proper cure as it set up. Looks too rough to be plain mortar. Also looks like the application was a little too thick.

Repair consists of first checking the remainder of the wall to make sure any other unsound or hollow areas are completely removed. Stucco repair kits can be purchased at most big box stores, and if you need more than what a typical kit covers, buy a whole bag. Mix and apply the new material as instructed on the package, after properly preparing the surface. You can use a wide wooden hand float or even a rough rubber hand float to work the stuff in, using broad strokes while applying pressure as if you're trying to squeeze the material. Two thin layers may be more effective than one thick one, and don't forget the cure.
