Faux Stone Mailboxes

Hello everyone, we've been looking into installing a new mailbox and looked online for the faux stone mailboxes, as we can no longer do the physical work that it takes to build a mailbox from mortar and stone. Even some of the faux stone mailbox videos that we have found online, look to be a lot of work to install. We can't hire out either, because of a limited budget. So, we have no choice, but to do it ourselves. Can anyone recommend a good type of faux stone mailbox that doesn't require that much work to install and that is good quality? I know, we're probably asking for too much. Thank you. -KT

Welcome to the forums! Not sure what a faux stone mailbox is, but you can always frame up the design you want using pressure treated wood, mount your mail box in the framing solidly with it sticking out the front about 2", then put concrete backer underlayment on the outside of your design, top it with lath and lay in your faux stone with thinset or mortar. What did you have in mind for a design, and were you wanting to make one from scratch??

Hi Chandler:
Thank you for your reply. A faux rock/stone mailbox is one that is prefabricated and requires minimal labor, except for putting it together. The link I've provided will show what I am referring to. We want something easy to put together, with minimal labor involved -the reason of which I've already specified in my original post.
