Part of my foundation broke off

Hello everyone,

I'm not too sure how to fix this but part of my foundation outside broke off and I was wondering if I can fix this myself or do I need help of the pros. I have attached photos of the what it looks like and the piece that fell off of what it looks like.

Thanks in advance for the help

Welcome to the forums! It appears to be a concrete filled block foundation. My concern would be "why" did this happen. Was it due to water infiltration and freezing? Need to isolate the cause. Making a repair is pretty straight forward. You can use a concrete adhesive to replace the piece or fill the cavity with concrete patching compound (preferred) and reapply your stucco type finish and paint.

Thanks chandler for the tip. I'll most likely patch the area up

And be prepared for more chunks breaking off in the future. The large piece just to the left from where the one already broke off is next on the list.

You can repair one location at a time, for the rest of your life, or just do a proper repair all at the same time, removing all loose and delaminated material before prepping the surface and applying repair mortar to the entire area.
