Question

DO I HAVE TO STRIP PAINT FROM A WOOD SIDING AROUND A BRICK HOUSE? I WANT REPAINT TO GIVE A FRESH NEW COLOR, BUT I WANT TO MAKE IT AS EASY AND SIMPLE AS POSSIBLE. WHAT STEPS SHOULD I CONSIDER BEFORE I BEGIN THIS PROJECT?

Stripping is necessary when the paint has lost it's flexibility (too many coats) or some other major problem with the coating exists. Removing loose, peeling, and cracking paint in isolated areas is more common. Review the steps in the Doityourself.com how to pages. If you have more questions post to the paint forum. Chipfo, mikemerrit or BobF, will guide you.
