Fixing Exterior foundation wall facing

Hi all,
I need to repair the exterior facing of a foundation wall. The existing facing (about 1/8 to 1/4" thick) is bulging, cracking and falling off. House built in 1921.

I've removed most of the loose and cracked facing. I'm planning on using a stucco finishing mix (Sakrete) to replace the facing. Any comments?

The underlying surface seems in good condition.should I use a concrete adhesive?

I plan on painting once cured the same color as rest of wall.

Thanks,
Nick

Welcome to the forums Nick!

Sounds like a plan although we can't see what you see http://www.doityourself.com/forum/el...-pictures.html

Thanks,
Didn't get around to taking photos today. But the existing finish has a coarse texture like very rough sand paper.
I bought a bag of Quikrete stucco finish mix.
Might have to experiment with a dash coat. Maybe mixing in sand with the finish coat?

I've worked with concrete and mortar before but never as stucco.

Anyone tried the acrylic finishes that are available?
