Question

I am in the process of negotiating the purchase of a used home. It is less than five years old, and after having a home inspector review home, It was discovered that the Lentils holding up the brick were missing from above the front door and above a Tripple Window. I was told this was a building Violation. THere are only Three of four rows of brick above these areas and probably would not require too much labor to do. My question is approx. how much would something like this cost to repair, or can it be???

Call local contractors. Quickly explain the circumstances; ask for a non committal high ballpark figure and provide details. Be polite and businesslike. You'll receive zip, if you tell them it's not much work or it's only a few brick.

A few details in addition to those stated:
Brick veneer or solid brick home. If solid brick - thickness of the wall.
Span of the window opening. Location of the window opening in relationship to corners, other openings, columns or vertical expansion joints.
Location of the door opening in relationship to corners, other openings, columns or vertical expansion joints.
Type of roof - truss, beam, rafters.
