Need Help with Building Asphalt Sealer
Hi .. I'm interested in building a sealcoating machine for just my own personal use, looking at the systems on different sites and trying to get ideas. Getting a water/trash pump and hoses is pretty straight forward, the hard part is building the unit that screws into the 55 gallon drum and getting these parts and also the wand. The part that goes into the drum is made up with cam-lock fittings but how the inner tube works I don't know. I will try and paste a link from a site to show the part I'm talking about, when looking at other sites this inner tube seems to be in two parts, the long part for suction and the return flowing back around the suction tube. If anyone can help out I would appreciate it, thanks in advance.

What materials and tools you have available?
I have a machine shop, plasma, welders and a good pile of material to choose from so for me I'd say it's a fun weekend project. Much of what that machine is using looks like relatively standard pipe & fittings but you might have to do some modifying to whatever parts you can find and fabricate the rest.
It looks like the inner tube is a return or recirculation line. When not spraying it stirs the barrel to keep solids from settling and it keeps fresh material going through the pump so it does not overheat.
