How to Install a Brick Ribbon Drive (like the photo)

I want to install a ribbon driveway, but with paver bricks. The driveway would be about 30 feet, the elevation change occurs at the street entrance/exit, where there is about a 1 foot drop in about 3 feet.

Here are the questions I have with doing so.

1. Do I still need to do a layer of compacted gravel and sand beneath the paver bricks?
2. Are all pavers the same? Will any old paver brick support the weight of a car above it?
3. Do I need to build a form to keep the pavers in place?

Thanks for reading and hopefully for your insight.

1. Yes...maybe even more than for a simple walkway...wait for a Pro to weigh in.

2. No...pavers for traffic are harder and stronger than typical home center stuff. You need to go
to a paver supplier and get the right type.

3. Not really a form like for pouring concrete, but you'll need something permanent to lock the edges
in. See the last part of answer 1.
