Winter, concrete and de-icers

I know why salt damages concrete. I don't need to be educated.

However, can someone point me to a non-comercial article that I can quote (or print and post) that explains the reasons in non technical terms that can be conveyed to the everyday consumer?

And maybe provide a chart type list that shows the various ice melters available and shows the effects on concrete, vegetation and pets.

I want to post the info in our store as an aid to consumers. But I don't want to promote any one brand.

There is no chart but it's an unbiased opinion.

I also searched google images for a chart but didn't spend a lot of time, on it. You might want to try that.
