Question

Need advice on installing the thin cultured brick on a fireplace wall outside and lower house front outside. Do you just staple the mesh over the wood base and "mud" the bricks in place? Any help appreciated with a website or book showing how.

You have the basic idea for one installation method.

Although these instructions
http://www.coronado.com/installation...one_veneer.htm
are for stimulated stone, and not complete in every detail,
it is the same basic process that you're referring to.

If you're not adept with a hawk and trowel there are grid
systems that can be affixed, the brick fitted into the
grid, and then mortar is applied. One of the systems, with
a purchasable "how to video"

Ask your supplier for available "how to" pamphlets.
