Wasp Nest Under Concrete Driveway

I don't know if they are wasps or yellow jackets. They found home under my concrete driveway. They flew in and out through the expansion joint. I poured a whole bottle of Spectracide in there one night and they're all dead. I think I need to do something about the nest to prevent them from coming back next year. I can't dig it out. The passageway they used is not much bigger than the size of my thumb. Is there anything I can pour into the hole to fill it? Thanks!

Most likely they are yellow jackets, an you only discovered one of two entrances they provide for themselves. One is an emergency exit in case you occlude the first one, and it can be several feet from the one you found. They won't return next year, 'cause they are dead and the nest is poisoned. I wouldn't worry about the hole to much, but you can pour a slurry of concrete repair patch in it and let it cure.
