We have an outdoor patio slabn that has a slight slope away from the house. It is rather new and well made. We are adding an addition to the back of our house and could save money if we retain this foundation rather than tearing it up. I know that there are products for leveling concrete, would this be a recommended use for these products?

The building department will probably say no to the use of the patio as a foundation for a framed addition. Even if they do say yes the patio probably lacks a vapor barrier to say the least. A leveler might be an option, but I think your money would be better spent if you ignore the patio altogether.
