Crack in Brick help. Foundation issues or water proofing issues?

We have a horizontal crack between two layers of brick on one side of our house, right where the brick starts to go below grade. I would say it's about an inch overhang. Here are some pictures of what it looks like. Does anyone have any insight as to what might be causing that or how to fix it? This crack occurs between two window wells (which are both below grade) and is right about where brick meets soil.

It's hard to say what caused the crack, without more info. It's easy enough to patch that section but it would be nice to know what caused it.

is there any vertical displacement of the various courses ? absent that, i'd probably just repoint it

Advice needed for updating look of foundation piers

Hello, Our home which we recently purchased dates from the early 1950s and sits on a pier and beam foundation. The front of the foundation is bricked up with a few small openings for ventilation but the back, right side and part of the side by the carport are completely open. As you can imagine, the crawlspace is a magnet for every cat, raccoon, armadillo, possum, etc., in the neighborhood. The crawlspace opening is about 10-12 inches above the ground from the bottom of the siding. My plan is to attach a series of framed panels, a few of which can be removed fairly easily for access if necessary, using square vinyl privacy lattice to block out the animals but still allow good ventilation. The main problem I'm facing is the bottom of most of the triangular cement piers that surround the back and right side of the house stick out from under the crawlspace by a couple of inches, making it almost impossible to panel around without making it look shoddy. My idea is to create short 3-sided stone veneer columns that will cover the visible sides of the concrete piers and provide a solid vertical wall for the panels to butt up alongside. Any advice, tips, considerations or other recommendations would be greatly appreciated before I get started. I'm assuming I'll need to make some sort of U-shaped backing panel out of cement fiber board or wrapped plywood to prevent moisture damage. Or is there a better, easier or more cost-effective way? Cement truck on asphalt driveway

I need to get cement poured in my backyard. Is it ok to have the cement truck come on to my asphalt driveway. I am not sure how think the driveway is so I know that wont help much. Last summer I had a 10yard dumpster filled with dirt and old pavers in the driveway and everything was good. The readymix company said the truck is about 24-25 tons with the cement.Read More
