IMO spray only application of driveway sealer is worthless! all it does is color the asphalt. The sealer needs to be worked into the asphalt with either a squeegee or roller. It's ok to apply the sealer with an airless [w/big tip] but you need to go back over it with a squeegee to work it in. Normally it's best to let the asphalt weather for 1 yr before applying the sealer. You can returned unopened 5s if you buy too much.

I agree.
FWIW. Learned this from my Father-in law many years ago.
Here's how I do my driveway. The night before I clean driveway. Using a paint brush I do the perimeter with sealer about 6" to 10" boarder. The next morning at about 5:00AM I squeegee the whole driveway. Ready to use by noon same day.
The secret is to apply the sealer when the driveway is cool. It flows easy and drys quickly without the hot sun bearing down on you. And its ready to drive on in just a few hours.
I wonder at those people who wait when the sun is at high noon and the asphalt is at about 130 degrees and they're pulling and pushing that glue like tar over that drive. Then they need to wait all day before using it.
I've parted this advise to many people at our store when buying sealer. Many come back to thank me for the tip.
