Paint from Siding running onto bricks

My house has brick on the first floor, with white siding on the second floor. The house is probably 75 years old, and it now looks as though the paint from the siding has leeched downward into the brick. I have attached an image from one of the worse spots.

Any ideas on how I can remove this discoloration?

That's where the paint has oxidized and washed off onto the brick - it should wash off with a little detergent, maybe some scrubbing.

Really?

Really, thats it? I thought I was going to have to sandblast it or something!!

Any special soap you like, or just some kitchen soap?

And for the brush, just a heavy brush, like a push broom?

A push broom will probably work [I was thinking an acid brush] I'd use TSP but laundry detergent or other heavy duty cleaner should also work. You could also use a pressure washer but care needs to be used to prevent damage to the brick,
