Concrete Breezeway Repair - Cover Surface Footprints
I have a 80 sq ft (8' x 10') front entry concrete breezeway that is covered by the house and backs to the house on 2 sides. The perimeter on two outide dimensions is faced with standard red brick edging.
The surface of the concrete, which is 40 years old and very structurally sound has some shallow footprint depressions where kids ran across the fresh concrete (Ugh!) My wife hates the look that has been eating at her for 40 years!!
Q. What can I do to restore an unblemished concrete surface that 'feathers' down to the existing brick perimeter. The concrete pad surface and the top of the brick are at the same level. I have been told that there are 'bonding' type repair materials that will work. Living in NJ we have cold winters and would a bonding type material withstand any heaving/moisture/cold issues.
Thanks for the help and advice.

I have had very good luck with Quickrete's concrete resurfacer and I'm sure there are other brands that will work as well. The resurfacer can be feathered down to a pretty thin edge to mate up to your brick and it can also go on thicker to cover the foot prints.

Even I am surprised at the success. The oldest I've done is 5 years old. Depending on the quality of the concrete underneath I can almost predict how well and how long it will last but I've put it down over some really crappy concrete and been surprised with how well it holds up.

Follow Up Q.
What type of surface 'prep' work is needed to prepare the structurally sound concrete surface in order to insure a 'sound' bond with the bonding material
Thanks again for the help and suggestions !
