Building a concrete brick stuccoed wall

Hello friends,

I am planning to build a stuccoed brick wall (to match the stuccoed house) around my backyard. This will be a big project, and I'm planning on doing most of the work alone. I think with a little practice I could be good at the masonry part of this project, but I'm not sure how deep/wide to build my footer. Any advice for an aspiring mason?

This will be a big fence. I'm planning on it covering around 1/3 an acre.

Sincere thanks,
C.J.

Welcome to the forums CJ!

Generally footers are 2' wide and 8" thick but your local permit office has the last say. The footer needs to extend down to the frost line. I don't know how deep that would be in your location but your local permit office would. They'll probably also require rebar to be placed in the footer.

Advice for an aspiring mason: Pick a smaller project that won't end your life. That project is suicidal.
