Anyone know what this is?

Just bought a house and this is located about 10 feet from what used to be a garage. It has two plastic lines attached to one side which run into the ground and one in the center. Some sort of fuel tank?

Try to see what's in the lines or open it.

Possibly fuel oil but doubtful as it doesn't look watertight.
Maybe some type of aeration for the septic system ?
Does the top lift off like a cover ?

I would suggest that you dig around it, maybe at least 6 or 8 inches deep and it might give us a better idea.

Ok, I'll do some digging and post some better pics next week. It was a foreclosure so unfortunately no opportunity to speak with the past owner.

Personally, I would have investigated it before I posted here just in case it turned out to be a buried treasure. I'm sure that you'll share it with us.
