Concrete Seal Repair

Hi -

Something took off some of the concrete sealer on my garage floor. Any advice on how to repair the seal would be greatly appreciated!

What kind of sealer is it? How did you remove a portion? Do you know what brand of sealer was used?

sounds as if its either a moisture issue through a non-breathable sealer OR there was some residual bondbreaker insufficiently removed

No idea what kind of sealer it is. It is the original sealer from when the house was built 33 years ago.

A weed killer solution of vinegar, epsom salt and dish soal got spilled on it and took the sealer off before I realized what happened. I won't be mixing that weed killer up in the garage anymore...

That weed killer took it down to the bare concrete and I need to reseal about 1.5 sq ft.

I've worked with builders that would spray on a sealer/curing agent over fresh concrete - I wonder if that might be what you have ??

That might be what I have, but I really have no idea. What is the best way to repair this kind of thing?

I don't know that type of coating is always applied over fresh concrete. I don't know if it can be touched up. Hopefully those who know more than me will respond.

Ok, thanks!

Knowing that it was applied over fresh concrete might help.

Hopefully someone out there can help me figure out how to fix this!

Yes you can apply a similar sealant to existing concrete. Sand the surface your going to seal and or acid wash, apply the new sealant so it overlaps slightly bordering unsanded areas.

Or just follow the instructions on the package
