Welcome to the forums!

New or old concrete? does it currently have any type of coating on it?
There are 2 types of concrete stain; solid pigment stain and acid stain. Acid stains react with the concrete to produce different colors in the concrete, solid stains color the concrete. Stains rarely peel.
Paint needs 2 or more coats and will have a glossy finish. It is prone to peel if any moisture comes up thru the concrete slab.
