In the bottom row of bricks on a house what are the intentional cracks for shown in the picture? Ant are getting into the house and I think its through these cracks.

Those are weep holes, for water to drain out from behind the bricks, and you have to look pretty closely sometimes to see it, but there is typically a mesh in the gaps to keep bugs out.

Thanks. So its possible that there is no mesh or its broken or something right? Hence the ants you can slightly see in the second image going in. Is it possible for ants to get inside the house somehow if there is no mesh?

And if there is mesh also. Doubt you could seal your house tight enough to keep them out.

Call an exterminator to come spray around the foundation.

You can't seal a foundation against insects 100%. A preventative spray at least early every spring and late fall is more useful. Alot of people do them every quarter since they're typically good for about 90 days.
