Block construction cost in Central Ohio

I am thinking about building a structure in the spring of 16.

The building will probably be 30x40 on a slab. I can do the site work, the excavating, and install the footer. What I am looking for is a working number per block that masons use to estimate what a block wall would cost to build. This number includes the basic block cost, labor and mortar to do standard type jobs.

I will need 5 courses to finish but am unsure of the final size or design. My father in law assures me that this number exist and that it is the easy way to calculate block work. Most of the information I see on the net talks about square footage. This I do not want.

I live just outside of Mount Vernon, Ohio in Knox County.

Any local people out there who are experienced block layers and can tell me what I want to know?

Find the contact info for a few of those local block layers, and have them give you a quote.

Blocks

It means the calculated number of blocks required to do the job. A necessary bit of info for an estimate.
