How to fix a crack in concrete slab
Hi there,
The slab that makes up the floor of my unenclosed porch has a fine crack that runs across it. It looks like someone tried to patch it at one point but we have occasionally noticed water dripping into the cold room under the porch.
I also noticed something like rusted metal exposed in crack on the underside of the slab, in the ceiling of the cold room. Would this likely be a piece of rebar?
Any ideas on how I should approach properly repairing this? Also, are there any structural concerns with having the slab cracked like this?
Jason

Can't help on structural matters.....how about Zypex a hydraulic cement that is supposed to seal up cracks in concrete.

typical deterioration when 1 doesn't properly seal a conc surface,,, wtr penetrates & causes rust on the rebar which then expands spalling the concrete,,, from the pictures, i'd guess the rebar isn't in the middle of the slab but, rather, in the lower part of the slab,,, i'm guessing the crk closely follows the rebar,,, we've got some suspended walkways to repair w/same issue
